Mini Rodini Dots Dog Short Sleeve Tee

Black polka dots have been around forever, which is probably why they never seem to date.

On a child's T-shirt though, they can easily slip into looking a bit twee. Mini Rodini avoids that completely. The spots are oversized, the cream has a lovely softness to it, and then, almost as an afterthought, there's a tiny embroidered dachshund happily balancing on one of the dots.

That's the bit that wins me over.

It would have been easy to make the dog the main event, printed huge across the front, but this feels much more Mini Rodini. You discover him rather than being introduced to him, and somehow that gives the T-shirt far more personality.

The ribbed organic cotton is another nice touch. It hangs differently to a standard jersey tee and gives the whole thing a little more texture without changing the simplicity of the design.

This is one of those pieces I'd use to break up brighter outfits. It looks brilliant with coloured joggers, printed leggings or mustard shorts because the black spots ground everything else. Equally, it works just as well with worn-in denim if you're keeping things simple.

It doesn't need to shout. The little dachshund has already done enough.
