Some chocolate has a story worth telling. Majani Scorza was created in Bologna in 1832 and is believed to be the first solid chocolate ever produced in Italy. Nearly two centuries later, it's still made using the original family recipe.
Scorza means ‘bark’ in Italian, a reference to the rough, irregular layers of dark chocolate that give it its distinctive appearance. Made with 60% cocoa, it has a wonderfully crumbly texture that breaks apart before slowly melting in your mouth. Quite different from an ordinary chocolate bar.
Majani has been making chocolate in Bologna since 1796, and the Scorza remains one of its most celebrated creations. Presented in a beautiful, old-fashioned 76g box, it's a lovely little gift for someone who appreciates really good chocolate. Although we'd quite understand keeping it for yourself.
