That extraordinary crest makes the Parasaurolophus one of the most recognisable dinosaurs of the Cretaceous period. Sweeping backwards from its head like an enormous curved horn, it wasn't actually a weapon at all. Scientists believe the hollow crest may have helped this prehistoric herbivore communicate by producing deep, resonating sounds.

This detailed Parasaurolophus dinosaur toy has a warm brown body with darker markings, a long tail and a distinctive yellow head crest. A plant-eating dinosaur that lived around 75 million years ago in what is now North America, Parasaurolophus belonged to the hadrosaur family, often known as duck-billed dinosaurs. It could move on both two and four legs, making it a particularly interesting addition to a collection of prehistoric animal figures.

Part of the ZYLO collectible dinosaur series, the figure comes in a warm terracotta-coloured collector's case with cream checkerboard detailing, a carrying handle and an illustrated dinosaur fact card. The case opens to display the dinosaur inside, with the packaging making it feel like a little prehistoric discovery of its own.

A lovely dinosaur gift for children aged 3 and over, particularly those who enjoy collecting realistic dinosaur figures and learning about unusual prehistoric creatures. Perfect for imaginative play, dinosaur enthusiasts and children who already know their T. rex from their Triceratops.
