Vintage Pull Along Black Horse

A black horse with a magnificent mane, enormous rolling eyes and four bright red wheels. This is the sort of toy that makes you wonder why they ever stopped making things like this.

With its glossy black finish, sculpted saddle and rather theatrical expression, this traditional pull-along horse looks as though it's galloped straight out of a 1960s toy shop. The exaggerated features are particularly good, from the sweeping tail to the elaborate mane and those wonderfully peculiar eyes.

Four chunky red wheels keep it rolling along, while a yellow cord lets little ones take their new companion wherever they're going. Pull it across the floor and watch it trot along behind, encouraging movement, coordination and those first independent adventures around the house.

There's a lovely sense of nostalgia to these old-fashioned toys. They're colourful, full of personality and have the sort of distinctive design that makes them just as appealing sitting on a nursery shelf as they are being dragged around the living room.
