Becksöndergaard Salsa Red Alpaca Wool Triangle Scarf

This red is absolutely glorious. Not burgundy, not tomato, not a sensible dark winter red — proper, brilliant Salsa Red.

It’s particularly good in something soft and fuzzy like this, because the alpaca and wool take some of the sharpness out of such a strong colour. The knit has that slightly fluffy surface that catches the light rather than looking completely flat, and it feels beautifully soft around the neck too.

The triangle shape is very much the scarf shape of the moment, but here it also means you can add a fairly substantial hit of red without feeling like you’re wearing an enormous red scarf. The long pointed ends look great tied loosely at the front, especially over a dark coat, and at 160 x 55cm there’s enough of it to properly wrap up when it’s cold.

Made from 40% alpaca and 40% wool, so there’s real warmth in it despite how light it feels.

Personally, I’d put this straight over navy, chocolate brown, charcoal or leopard print. And yes, leopard absolutely counts as a neutral.
