Solar Eclipse’s Pigeon Bag Charm is hand-painted, with all those slightly grubby-but-beautiful pigeon colours captured in swirls of smoky grey, blue, mauve and pearly cream. The little white feather markings are painted over the top, and because the design is double-sided, he looks good whichever way he happens to be dangling.

He’s made from cellulose acetate, a plant-based material produced from recycled wood pulp, which gives the charm that lovely glossy, almost tortoiseshell finish. There’s a gold-tone ring and lobster clasp at the top, so you can clip him onto a handbag, backpack, keys or wherever else could benefit from the addition of a pigeon.

I particularly like that they haven't tried to make him pretty. He has the slightly startled eye, the chunky body and the general attitude of a pigeon who has just spotted half a Pret sandwich unattended.
