Yiayia and Friends re-imagines and revitalises traditional concepts of life, focusing on superior quality food products, culinary tools, and epicurean artefacts from the past. Central to this innovative design project is “Yiayia” (Greek for “granny”), a beloved figure celebrated as the powerful and all-knowing matriarch in this captivating storyline. Alongside her “friends” from both the human and animal kingdoms, Yiayia honours the time-honoured art of growing, cooking, and sharing food. Together, they ensure that these cherished practices are not only remembered but also re-introduced and re-imagined for generations to come, preserving their cultural significance and timeless value.
