Shrimp Soy Wax Candle

A perfectly pink prawn, recreated in wax and packaged up like the catch of the day.

Nata Concept Store’s Shrimp Candle is hand-poured from soy wax, measuring 12 × 7.5cm and complete with all the curves and details of the real thing, right down to those slightly alarming little legs. The fish-counter-style box is particularly good too, especially if you’re giving it to someone who appreciates food almost as much as they appreciate strange things for their house.

Despite appearances, there’s nothing remotely fishy about the fragrance. Jasmine, neroli and orange blossom make it fresh and floral, while the pink wax does an alarmingly convincing impression of a cooked prawn.

At 3cm high, it sits brilliantly amongst books and objects, on a kitchen shelf or in the middle of a dinner table. It has a burn time of around 15 minutes, although setting fire to its little pink legs feels surprisingly brutal, so we suspect plenty will remain permanently intact.
