Rigatoni Soy Wax Candle

A single, enormous piece of rigatoni. Al dente, apparently, although we wouldn’t recommend testing that.

Nata Concept Store has recreated the familiar ridged pasta tube in soy wax, right down to the hollow centre and satisfyingly chunky shape. The warm buttery yellow makes it look remarkably convincing, particularly sitting in its pasta-box-inspired packaging.

It’s scented with jasmine, neroli and orange blossom rather than anything involving garlic and parmesan, so lighting it won’t leave the house smelling like an Italian restaurant. Although, admittedly, that wouldn’t be the worst thing.

The oversized scale takes something completely ordinary and makes it wonderfully strange. Sit it on a kitchen shelf, add it to a dinner table or give it to the person who takes pasta very seriously. It’s equal parts candle and peculiar little object for the house, and far too good to hide in a cupboard with the actual rigatoni.
