Becksöndergaard Grey Melange Alpaca Wool Triangle Scarf

Grey melange just works so well in a fuzzy knit. You get all those tiny variations in tone running through the yarn, which makes this feel much softer than a flat block grey.

This is probably the colour I’d choose if I wanted to really lean into the triangle scarf trend without it feeling too fashion-y. It has that slightly old-school knitted scarf feel that looks great with a wool coat, but the long pointed shape makes it feel completely current. I’d wear it with navy, black, chocolate brown or a proper oversized camel coat — and I really like grey with a flash of red underneath too.

The alpaca and wool blend gives it plenty of warmth, with a soft, fuzzy finish that really suits the grey melange. It measures 160 x 55cm, so there’s enough fabric to wrap around your neck properly while still keeping that distinctive triangular shape. Becksöndergaard uses a blend of 40% alpaca and 40% wool, with nylon and spandex making up the remainder.

It’s one of those greys that makes texture the interesting bit rather than colour, and I think that’s exactly why this version works.
