Konges Sløjd Ciao Miao Magot Frill Pants

I mean, the kittens. Tiny fluffy kittens holding little red and blue hearts, scattered across washed blue denim with teeny cream polka dots. Konges Sløjd has gone fully vintage children’s catalogue with these and I am completely on board.

The denim is what stops them feeling too sweet. It has that soft, faded blue wash rather than a dark or rigid finish, and the shape is loose through the leg with a slightly cropped, wide fit. There’s an elasticated frill waist too, so they’re easy to pull on and comfortable without losing the look of a proper pair of jeans.

And that print is brilliant. It has the slightly faded quality of an old illustration rather than a super-clean modern cartoon, right down to the kittens’ rosy cheeks, fluffy tails and tiny hearts. Even the polka dots feel like part of the original artwork.

I’d keep everything else really simple with these — a plain sweatshirt or knit — or go completely the other way and match them with the Ciao Miao shirt. Head-to-toe kittens feels entirely justified here.
