This feels like the sort of thing people don't realise they need until it's on the table. Suddenly the olives aren't rolling into the hummus, the pistachio shells have somewhere to go, and nobody's asking where to put the cocktail sticks.
The five curved sections are surprisingly useful, but it's the shape that makes it. It almost looks like it's moving, and the soft blue, cream and lime glaze gives it that unmistakable HKliving feel. Every angle catches the light a little differently, so it looks just as good sitting empty between meals as it does piled with snacks.
I'd use it for aperitivo more than anything else. Olives, cornichons, salted almonds, a good Parmesan cut into chunks. The sort of food people graze on while another bottle gets opened. It's one of those serving pieces that quietly encourages everyone to linger around the table a bit longer.
Like all of the 70's Ceramics collection, every piece has its own character thanks to the reactive glaze, so no two trays are exactly alike.
