Brigitte Tanaka Post It Bag

A bag for anyone whose desk, diary and entire life is held together by Post-its. Brigitte Tanaka takes those little squares of paper we scribble on, stick everywhere and inevitably lose, and turns them into an embroidered organza bag.

Scattered across the sheer white fabric are brightly coloured notes carrying messages including “free hugs”, “grow up later!”, “love is the new black” and “no time for bullshit”. Flip it over and there are more: “I think I think too much”, “so what??” and the wonderfully straightforward “I don’t care.”

The Post-its look almost as though they’ve genuinely been stuck onto the bag, with the transparency of the organza allowing them to show through from either side. There’s even an orange Post-it worked into the design as a little pocket.

It’s funny, slightly irreverent and very Brigitte Tanaka – taking something completely ordinary and disposable and recreating it in intricate embroidery as something you’ll want to keep.
