Konges Sløjd Stripe Como Basic Long Sleeve Newborn Body

There’s something very old-school baby about a tiny stripe, and I mean that in the best possible way. This one has that lovely slightly French feel to it: soft cream, fine blue stripes and then the tiniest little lemon sitting on the chest. Nothing too sweet, nothing fussy.

The wrap front is especially good for newborns. Rather than pulling a body over a tiny head, it opens right out and fastens with poppers down the side, then again underneath for changing. One of those details you perhaps don’t appreciate until you’re trying to dress a very small, very wriggly person.

It’s made from 95% organic cotton with 5% elastane, so it’s soft with just enough stretch rather than feeling thin or floppy. The cotton is GOTS Organic certified too.

I really like this as a first wardrobe piece because the stripe does all the work. Under a little knitted cardigan, with soft trousers, or simply on its own, it already looks properly dressed. And that tiny mustard lemon against the blue stripe is exactly the sort of detail Konges Sløjd gets right.
