Brigitte Tanaka Velo Pocket Book Pouch

Brigitte Tanaka turns another imagined book cover into a zipped organza pouch, this time with Le Secret du Vélo Blanc Paris. The faded photograph shows a white bicycle against a very Parisian backdrop of balconies, old stone buildings and a street lamp, with the book title embroidered across the top.

I like the slightly mysterious feel of this one. The Secret of the White Bicycle sounds convincingly like the title of an old French novel, and the hazy photograph looks as though it could have been taken decades ago. Printing it onto sheer organza makes that faded quality even better, with the contents of the pouch becoming part of the image once you start using it.

The book shape is simple, finished with a zip along the top and side, and it’s a useful size for all the smaller things you want to keep together inside a larger bag.
