Cocktail Party Long Safety Matches

Archivist’s Cocktail Party long matches come in one of those boxes that’s almost too good to use. Martini glasses, cocktail shakers, bottles, cherries and olives are scattered across it in pink, red and green, with that brilliantly loose hand-drawn quality that makes it feel more like something you found in a vintage bar than a box of matches.

Inside are 45 seriously long safety matches, each measuring 28cm, with natural wooden stems and white tips. That extra length isn’t just for show either. They’re brilliant for reaching candles once the wick has disappeared down into the jar, as well as lanterns, fireplaces and anything else where you’d quite like to keep your fingers away from the flame.

Made in the UK and wrapped in compostable cello.

Obviously they’re practical, but that’s not really why I’d buy them. Leave the box next to your favourite candle, prop it on a shelf or add it to the drinks trolley. Matches have absolutely no business looking this good.
