Scallop Die Cut Claret Checkerboard Happy Christmas Greeting Card

Very festive. Not a snowflake in sight.

A deep burgundy and chocolate checkerboard fills the bottom of this Christmas card, with warm cream above and a tiny “happy Christmas” sitting neatly in the corner. The scalloped top edge does most of the decorating, so there’s no need for holly, reindeer or anything wearing a Santa hat.

The colours are rich and properly wintry, but the design itself feels much more like something you’d find in a very good interiors shop than the Christmas card aisle. Simple, slightly retro and particularly good if traditional festive stationery isn’t really your thing.

It works for almost anyone too. Friends, family, hosts, colleagues, teachers — all without having to navigate overly sentimental messages or Christmas jokes that weren’t particularly funny the first time around.

A good one to buy several of, because December has a habit of producing people you suddenly realise you need a card for.
