Brigitte Tanaka Light Bulb Pouch

A light bulb might not be the obvious starting point for a beautiful little pouch, but Brigitte Tanaka makes a very good case for it.

Cut to the shape of an old-fashioned filament bulb, the Ampoule Pouch is made from sheer white organza with the finest embroidery tracing the glass, filament and all those tiny lines you’d normally never think to look at. At the top, metallic gold thread transforms the screw fitting into the best bit of the whole thing.

There’s something lovely about seeing such an everyday object made this delicate. The transparency of the organza is perfect for the glass of the bulb, while the soft neutral embroidery keeps all the detail visible without losing that barely-there quality.

Small, beautifully made and just unusual enough, it’s a lovely place for jewellery and other tiny treasures, and would make a brilliant gift too.
