Mini Rodini Violas Long Sleeve Dress

I think this is one of the happiest prints Mini Rodini has done in a long time.

The violas are everywhere, but it never feels overwhelming. Instead of blending into a floral blur, each flower keeps its own little space. The bright blue, buttery yellow, soft pink and burnt orange bounce off the cream background, giving the whole dress a freshness that feels just as right in September as it would in spring.

What I really like is the shape. It's deliberately uncomplicated. A straight, relaxed fit with long sleeves and a soft ribbed neckline means the print gets to be the star. There's nothing fighting for attention, which is exactly the right decision when the fabric is doing this much work.

I'd be tempted to style it exactly as shown here, with cream pointelle tights and simple shoes, but it would look equally good layered over leggings with chunky boots once the weather turns colder. It has enough colour in it to work with almost anything already sitting in the wardrobe.

Some prints only really work for one season. This isn't one of them. It has the brightness of summer flowers, but the richer blues, oranges and greens make it feel completely at home on an autumn day.
