Chocolate Clementines

Chocolate oranges are all very well, but the Italians have taken the idea somewhere much more interesting.

Seggiano's Chocolate Clementines are made with real Italian clementine segments, candied until wonderfully sweet and then dipped in rich 70% dark chocolate. You get that lovely combination of sharp, fragrant citrus and bitter chocolate, with the soft, chewy texture of actual fruit rather than an orange-flavoured chocolate.

They're particularly good with an espresso after dinner, although I wouldn't necessarily wait for an occasion. The sort of thing you open to have one and then find yourself going back for another.

Made in Italy and beautifully boxed in white and orange with delicate botanical illustrations, they're an excellent little gift for someone who appreciates good chocolate. And a rather more interesting addition to the Christmas chocolate selection.
