Tom & Boy Off Black Public Library Sweatshirt
The Tom & Boy Cotton Sweatshirt in off black features a high neck and a cute cream logo in a vintage retro style, depicting a kitten reading at a public library. This cozy sweatshirt combines a charming design with a soft, comfortable fit.
This new AW24 collection draws inspiration from "My Favourite Things," a song from the 1959 musical The Sound of Music. In the film, the song is sung by Maria, played by Julie Andrews, to comfort the Von Trapp children during a thunderstorm. Maria lists simple pleasures that lift her spirits when she's feeling down, like "Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens."
The song also lent its name to jazz saxophonist John Coltrane’s 1961 album My Favourite Things. The album features reimagined versions of popular songs by composers such as Gershwin and Porter. Coltrane once remarked, "you’ve got to go back to the old things and see them in a new light."
With these two references in mind, we asked children about their favourite things that make them feel better. Their picks include: little donkeys, libraries, bagels, pickles, and whistling a tune.
