Mini Rodini Faux Fur Mittens

The first thing I thought when I saw these was, "I wish they made them in my size."

They've got that brilliant balance that Mini Rodini seems to get right so often. Yes, they're practical winter mittens, but they're also just really fun. The deep chocolate faux fur already looks impossibly cosy, then someone decided to add tiny orange spikes along the top. It's a small detail, but it completely changes them.

I also like that they haven't gone down the obvious dinosaur route. The spikes are enough to spark a bit of imagination without turning the mittens into a costume. They still feel wearable with a winter coat, a snowsuit or even an everyday jacket.

The ribbed cuffs are worth mentioning too. They're long enough to help keep cold air and snow out, which makes a real difference when little hands are determined to stay outside for "five more minutes". And because the faux fur is so wonderfully fluffy, they look just as inviting hanging by the front door as they do being worn.

Winter accessories are usually the first thing children want to take off. I have a feeling these might be the exception.
