Birthday Cake (Happy Birthday) Greeting Card

A proper birthday cake. Tall, wonky, layered with jam and covered in candles – exactly as it should be.

London illustrator Sophie Deller keeps everything wonderfully simple, using blocks of warm orange, pink and red with a row of mismatched colourful candles on top. The soft grey background makes the whole thing feel more like a little piece of illustration than a standard birthday card, with her lovely hand-cut, collage-like shapes doing all the work.

“Happy Birthday!” is printed across the bottom, so there’s no age attached and no terrible birthday joke to contend with. Just a really good card for pretty much anyone.

Beautifully printed in the UK using vegan inks on heavyweight 300gsm Invercote board and supplied with a kraft envelope.
