Becksöndergaard Deep Orchid Purple Patternia Knit Balaclava

Somewhere along the way, the balaclava escaped the ski slope and became one of winter’s best accessories. The Patternia is a particularly convincing argument for it.

Knitted in a soft alpaca and wool blend, it gives you the warmth of a hat and scarf in one, covering the head, ears and neck without needing to wrap yourself in multiple layers. But this one is clearly not just about keeping the cold out.

The all-over knitted pattern gives it the feel of a great vintage jumper, only worn on your head. It peeks out above a coat collar, frames the face and adds far more to an outfit than a plain beanie ever could. And when you don’t need the full balaclava effect, it can sit pushed back around the head and neck like a knitted hood.

Very useful when it’s freezing. Even better when it isn’t quite freezing but you want to wear it anyway.
