Textile Grid Muted Happy Birthday Greeting Card

For the person who would rather have good typography than balloons.

This birthday card keeps things beautifully simple: deep chocolate brown across the top, a cream and brown check underneath, and a tiny “happy birthday” tucked neatly into the corner. That’s it. And it really doesn’t need anything else.

The almost monochrome palette gives it a lovely retro interiors feel — somewhere between old-school gingham, a very good tablecloth and the sort of wrapping paper you’d save rather than throw away. It’s smart without being formal and minimal without feeling boring.

Most importantly, it’s one of those genuinely useful birthday cards to have in the drawer. No age, no gender, no assumptions about how wildly excited someone ought to be about another year passing. Just happy birthday, nicely done.

For friends, brothers, dads, partners, colleagues, teenagers and anyone else who appreciates keeping things simple.
