BDAY Four Lettered Striped Greeting Card

Four letters. Job done.

A birthday card that says exactly what it needs to without resorting to balloons, cake or increasingly questionable jokes about getting older. Big wonky BDAY lettering in powder blue, orange, cream and cobalt sits against wide chocolate brown and burnt orange stripes for a colour combination that feels distinctly retro.

The irregular letters give it that cut-and-pasted look rather than anything too neat or polished, while the striped background makes it bold enough to stand out amongst the inevitable pile of birthday cards on the mantelpiece.

There’s no age, no gender and no pre-written sentiment to negotiate, so it works for pretty much anyone — friends, family, partners, teenagers, colleagues and those people you know well enough to buy a card for but not well enough to know whether they’d appreciate a joke about their knees.

A useful one to keep in the card drawer.
