Tom & Boy Red L.A Sweatshirt

A little piece of Californian design history on a bright red sweatshirt.

Tom & Boy's Red L.A Sweatshirt features a geometric house illustration in blue and white, with Los Angeles and Pacific Palisades printed underneath. The design appears to reference the world of Charles and Ray Eames, whose famous modernist home sits in Pacific Palisades, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

There's a playful, almost wooden-toy quality to the illustration, with its simple shapes and primary colours. It's an interesting nod to mid-century design, and a lovely detail for anyone familiar with the Eames House.

The sweatshirt itself has a relaxed, boxy fit with dropped shoulders, a crew neckline and ribbed cuffs and hem. The bright red works brilliantly with denim, but we'd also pair it with the blue and white checkerboard trousers from the same Tom & Boy collection.
