Becksöndergaard Hot Fudge Brown Dot Cotta Scarf

I'm particularly taken with the colour combination of this one. Chocolate brown with tiny cream polka dots and a pale blue border isn't the most obvious pairing, but it works so well. Becksöndergaard's Dot Cotta Scarf has the feel of a classic spotted neckerchief, with a slightly unexpected choice of colours that makes it much more interesting.

Made from 100% cotton, it's soft, lightweight and comfortable against the skin. The 55 × 55cm square is a useful size for tying neatly at the neck, with enough fabric to make a proper knot without leaving long ends hanging down.

I like it folded into a narrow band and tied with the knot slightly to one side, particularly with a pale blue shirt or a simple white T-shirt. It also works as a headband, tied around a ponytail or knotted onto a handbag.

The small, evenly spaced dots give it a lovely old-fashioned feel, and the pale blue edging looks especially good against the deep brown. I'd wear this with denim, navy or a grey sweatshirt.

A good alternative to silk if you prefer the feel of cotton, and the sort of accessory you can keep in your bag and pull out whenever you want to wear it.

I particularly like the brown and blue combination with denim, while the orange would look great with a white shirt or navy knitwear.
