Ripe Tomato Soy Wax Candle

The tomato that will never go soft at the bottom of the fruit bowl.

NATA Concept Store’s Ripe Tomato candle is pleasingly plump, properly red and finished with a green stalk on top. The shape is just wonky enough to look like a particularly good market tomato rather than something suspiciously perfect from the supermarket.

Made from soy wax and weighing 105g, it’s another piece of food masquerading as homeware — and one that looks especially good in a kitchen, on open shelving or mixed in amongst ceramics and cookbooks. The wick poking through the top is really the only giveaway.

The little red box deserves some attention too. Designed like old-fashioned produce packaging, it makes the whole thing feel like something you might have discovered in a tiny grocery shop several decades ago.

Give it to the friend who grows their own tomatoes, the one who plans holidays around restaurants, or the person whose kitchen is already full of things that have absolutely no practical reason to be there.
