HA KO Paper Incense - Black - No. 3 Sleep

This is incense for the bit of the evening when you’re trying to convince your brain that the day is actually over.

Black No. 03 Sleep blends lavender, cedarwood and patchouli — lavender bringing the familiar soft, herbal note, cedar adding something woodier underneath, and patchouli giving the fragrance a little more depth. It’s part of HA KO’s Black collection, where the fragrances are blended specifically around Relax, Focus and Sleep rather than built around a single scent.

Each individual leaf is made from Japanese washi paper with essential oils and natural dye. You can leave it unlit to gently fragrance a small space for up to three months, or light the tip, blow out the flame and let it smoulder for around five to seven minutes.

I particularly like the idea of this one as a little end-of-day ritual. Seven minutes, phone down, lights lower, and something that smells distinctly different from the rest of your day.

When burning, place the leaf on a HA KO felt burner mat (sold separately) on a flat, non-flammable surface. Never leave burning incense unattended and keep away from draughts and flammable materials.
