Mini Rodini Kittens Long Sleeve Dress

This is exactly the sort of dress that reminds me why Mini Rodini has such a following.

On paper it's covered in kittens, but somehow it never feels sugary. I think that's because the cats themselves have so much character. The pink and mustard little faces, the oversized eyes and those slightly wonky bow ties make them look as though they've wandered straight out of an old storybook rather than a children's cartoon.

Then there's the background. Instead of leaving the cream fabric plain, Mini Rodini has scattered soft geometric blocks behind the kittens. It's a tiny detail, but it stops the print feeling flat and gives the whole dress a lovely sense of depth.

The shape is simple too, which is exactly what I'd want with a print like this. The neat collar, gentle gathers through the skirt and long sleeves let the fabric take centre stage without competing for attention. I'd probably add thick cream tights and chunky boots when it's cold, or trainers if they're more likely to be climbing trees than sitting still.

It's playful in that unmistakable Mini Rodini way, but it still feels like a proper dress rather than fancy dress.
