Brigitte Tanaka Signatures Bag

The Signatures Bag is embroidered with the signatures of some of the biggest names in art, each stitched in a different colour across sheer white organza.

Picasso, Matisse, Frida Kahlo, Basquiat, Monet and Warhol are amongst them, their handwriting picked out in pink, red, blue, green, yellow and orange thread. The signatures carry on across the handles too, so the colour runs over the entire bag rather than stopping at the main panel.

There are some lovely details to spot. Picasso’s sweeping orange signature, Frida Kahlo in pink, Monet in green and Basquiat’s unmistakable handwriting in blue. Against the transparent white organza, they almost look as though they’ve been drawn directly onto the fabric.

It’s a brilliant mix of art, colour and embroidery, and the kind of bag people will want to have a proper look at when they see it. Particularly good for an art lover, but you definitely don’t need to know your Matisse from your Monet to want it.
